Karaoke

It's about time to post about something that is SO common here in the Philippines: KARAOKE!! A couple days ago, we went to K-1, a coffee shop with....karaoke rooms for Jenna's birthday.

Jenna loves karaoke and is aMaZInG at getting everyone else excited about it too.

Great fun...really loud, disco lights, lots of singing off-key.......perfect karaoke.

Lois' continuity, Celeste, came with her baby who was born at Mercy.

What's a good karaoke party without the YMCA song??? :D

Good times...

Too funny, Jordan! My sister Ashley is in Taipei, Taiwan, and karaoke is really big there as well. She says that the selection of English tunes is very poor indeed. Usually some cheezy song from a Disney musical.

Speaking of Ashley, if you are every in Taipei (or want to visit!), she'd be happy to be your tour guide and hostess. :o)

Take care! Y...M...C...A...! (great, I'll never get that song out of my head now..grin)

Camy (your mom's friend from Michigan)

Thanks for the offer, Mrs. L! How long has your sister been in Taipei?

And yeah, the selection of songs here is pretty cheesy too--a lot of Disney, Celine Dion, and Shania Twain. :P

Jordan, my sister Ashley has been in Taipei for 10 months. She is working for ORTV. It keeps her busy!

I know she hungers for friendship w/ an American, young lady her age...who speaks English (LOL). She tells me about the "Chinglish" conversations she has w/ the Taiwanese (a mixture of Chinese and English). I *love* that word "Chinglish!"

She's not too far from you and even talks of visiting the Phillippines in the future.

Anyway, don't hesitate to drop her a note when your not studying pelvises and such (grin).

It is a joy to check in to the blog and keep track of ya'll. I miss your mom dearly!

Oh wow...does she have a blog? Or facebook? Or...someway I could contact her? :) She's welcome to visit anytime! We usually have an extra bed, and if not, there's a great place she could stay just down the street. Anyway, I'd love to meet her! :D

Hi Jordan,

This is Kaci here, from Brazil. Gezer and I are going to see your mom and dad this weekend (my parents are coming too) and I just wanted to tell you we're going to miss you. Glad to keep somewhat updated with you through this blog. Really cool to see the way God is working in and through you! We're excited to see your family, but I'll feel sad not seeing you too.

We're having a baby in 6 weeks or so, did your mom tell you? We're really excited of course, though I'm really glad we're having it here and not in the Phillipines after looking at your pictures. :)

It's so great to hear from you, Kaci!

Yes! Mom did tell me that you were pregnant! Congratulations! I'm so excited for you and Gezer. Really disappointed though that I'll be missing your visit. :(

Hey...if you send out pics of your new little baby, I'd love to see them ;)
