365 Challenge #119

He has been very clingy these days. I can't walk anywhere in a room without him chasing after me and grabbing my legs.

I think that second top tooth just needs to come through....

365 Challenge #117

I laugh SO hard every time I see this....he definitely isn't camera shy!

He was using my hair clip as a teether, and it worked! His first top tooth came through!
Wishing he could go outside, but it was too rainy.
So he just smiled at the cars going by on the highway.
So exciting!

Joel's Room

Joel's room is FINALLY finished! (haha...it only took us 16 months) We moved him into it last Monday, and he sleeps so much longer than he used to in our room. Here are some before and after pictures...

Scraping off the old wallpaper

Painting the letters to his name....I got these at Hobby Lobby for 60 cents each.

The drywall was falling off in chunks off the ceiling. Nate fixed it.

Hand painted the letters....and the clouds.

Done! We purchased and fixed everything for less the $75...including all new paint. I found the giraffe for a dollar at a garage sale last summer. The pictures were buy one get one free, and the wooden animals (I glued on the wall with wall glue) were 50 cents--both at Hobby Lobby.

I've moved the wall animals around (specifically the giraffe) since I took this picture....they look much better now.

The clouds helped hide the defects in the ceiling. I used white paint and a regular, medium sized paintbrush.

365 Challenge #115

I know, I know....these are pretty boring. But I honestly have nothing better for today. It has been raining all week and I haven't gotten a chance to get any good pictures. It's raining again today, but I'll do my best to get some better ones of Joel for tomorrow.

365 Challenge #114

Today I went to a camera class that Nate signed me up for on Mother's day. It was a GREAT class! I learned how to shoot in aperture priority and manual instead of mostly automatic. I'm so excited about this...it completely changes the look of my pictures. Here's an example (I took these pictures just seconds apart and neither of them have been edited in any way):

Before in automatic:

After in manual:
ISO 1600
Aperture f/5.6

The second picture in manual captures the mood of the lighting so much better. The first picture doesn't look at all like what my eyes were seeing, but the second looks just like it did in real life. Can't wait to start shooting exclusively in manual!

365 Challenge #112

Enjoying Indian Spicy Dahl, rice, and chicken Tikka Masala. We thought it was a touch too spicy, even for us, but Joel thought it was the most delicious thing ever! And yes, I am aware that I cut off way too much of Joel's head.
Mmmmm....Joel is thinking of moving to India.
